Royalton Blue Waters Jamaica

Royalton Blue Waters Destination Wedding

This is my 5 star review for Royalton Blue Waters in Jamaica.  The resort is situated about 40 minutes from the Montego Bay airport in the area of Falmouth.  Falmouth is also a cruise port, which we drove past, and it’s newly built and beautiful.

Let me begin by giving you a little background on the resort grounds.  First there was Royalton White Sands which was a rehab of an older hotel that took on new ownership.  The resort was such a success, they built two new buildings, more restaurants, more pools, a lazy river and this new section is Royalton Blue Waters.

Here’s a map, I love maps:

When you stay at Royalton Blue Waters you have full exchange privileges with Royalton White Sands.  We stayed in a Luxury Junior Suite Swim Up with Double Beds.  It was brand new, clean and contemporary.  The swim up pool off of our patio was amazing and the easiest way to get my kids back to the room.

We did not have a Diamond Club room though I will definitely book a Diamond Club category next time I stay at a Royalton resort.  At all the restaurants, reservations are not required.  Easily walk up, put your name on the list and you will get a beeper while you sit at the bar sipping on your favorite cocktail.  If you are a Diamond Club guest, your butler is able to make dining reservations for you.  If you are impatient or you have small children and need to eat at a certain time, I suggest you book Diamond Club.

The entertainment around the resort was endless.  Reggae music at every turn, the entertainment team dancing and playing games, the lazy river, the kids waterpark, the ice cream shop that we visited waaaaayyyy too many times and my favorite, the foam party!

All the fun wasn’t just at the pool either.   When the beach looks like this, there are walks, naps and just people watching that keeps you busy for hours.

The beach gazebo is beautiful and contemporary just like the resort.  I love it’s simplistic look.

It’s hard not to notice the amazing gazebo at Royalton White Sands.  Seating for up to 60 guests out on a peninsula overlooking the Caribbean Sea.  It’s a huge draw to this resort.  I love to suggest this gazebo for Destination Weddings.  Ceremony at this gazebo and the cocktail and reception set up around the pool.  Just beautiful!

At Royalton White Sands they also have an island that you can rent out for private events.  It would have to be a very casual event because you have to walk through the water to get there.  Sounds like a fun day!

Dining at the buffet was really great.  I enjoyed the wide array of options as well as quality of food.  The buffet restaurant was very contemporary and new with a lot of different seating options for families.  The Ala Carte restaurants for dinner were great.   Service was relaxed and it did take a while to get our food.  I always suggest bringing coloring books and crayons with you for small children to keep them occupied.  We had a lot of fun doing hibachi.  You are able to make a reservation for hibachi in the lobby at 8 am.  We did that and ended up having a private table for our family and a great time eating way too much stir fry.  It was so hot in the restaurant, they opened the windows to let in the breeze and we had a fan pointed right at us.  The staff made us comfortable by keeping our drinks topped off and they even ran to the ice cream shop and made my kids sundae’s because they didn’t want the green tea ice cream that they had at this restaurant.  My advice is to watch for this type of service.  These team members were going over and beyond to make us happy.  I was so grateful to have such a wonderful and fun memory with my family.

It may seem that I am easy to please but it was really the resort that made everything so easy.  We relaxed, we ate well, the kids were entertained, it was pretty perfect.  Thanks to Royalton Blue Waters and White Sands to doing it right and showing us your Jamaican hospitality.
